Why do succulents stretch and how can I fix it? This is probably the most common question asked by beginners. Let's explore why succulents stretch, how to prevent it, and what to do to correct the appearance of an already stretched plant.
What to do if succulents have stretched
If succulents have stretched over the winter, it happens to everyone, and you can correct the situation in the following ways:
1. Cut off and root the top of the stretched plant.
2. Replant offshoots, shoots, or root leaf cuttings.

Succulents
Succulents are not plants of abundance.
They are plants of restraint.
Born in arid landscapes, they have learned to store, not consume.
Water lives within their leaves — quiet, measured, sufficient.
They do not rush to grow.
They endure.

Fertilising guideline
FERTILISING YOUR SUCCULENT — SIMPLE GUIDELINE
Use a low-nitrogen fertiliser (cactus/succulent type). Dilute it more than recommended — about ½ strength is enough. Apply only during the growing season (spring–summer), roughly once every 3–4 weeks.
Do not try to “push” growth. Succulents prefer stability over speed.
Add micronutrients (trace elements) from time to time.
Do not fertilise in winter.
